Shanghai, China, March 27, 2023: Anisoprint, a leading provider of composite 3D printing solutions, announced the opening of a new office in Shanghai, China. The new office is located in the AMTC, Additive Manufacturing Technology Centre, which is a state-of-the-art facility that provides access to cutting-edge 3D printing technologies and equipment.
What are prepregs?
Prepregs, or preliminarily impregnated fibers, are typically reinforcing fabrics pre-impregnated with a resin system (thermoset or thermoplastic). These flexible sheets are laid up in a mold for getting the right shape and require no additional materials, they are commonly used for the manufacturing of advanced composite structures.
Exhibiting at the show has been one of our highlights in 2022: not only because we enjoyed the opportunity to meet our partners, suppliers, clients and other industry professionals, but also because Formnext brings together the whole AM industry and is a great way to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
In this blog post, we take a look at the current state of composite 3D printing and asked Anisoprint’s Co-founder and Chief Design Engineer, Mikhail Golubev and Clemens Schwöbel, our Robotics Engineer, to share their Formnext experiences and key takeaways. Stay ahead of the curve with our industry recap!
Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg / Bremen, Germany – July 27, 2022: The Luxembourg based hardware start-up Anisoprint and Jacobs University Bremen have teamed up through a signed agreement to foster research, education and technology transfer on continuous fiber 3D printing on the university’s campus in Bremen.
Composite 3D printing is a relatively new trend in additive manufacturing: it is an innovative technology that allows to 3d print parts with enhanced parameters of strength, stiffness, and durability due to fiber component added to plastics.
Here is how fiber can be combined with plastics: filling with chopped fiber or reinforcing with continuous strands. In this material we focus on continuous fiber reinforcement specifically, as chopped fiber does not contribute to the properties equally and does not add to strength as much.
From early 2021 on, we’re focusing on the Chinese market. A partnership with Solid Dynamic, our distributor, has enabled us to launch our sales efforts successfully. Time to reflect on the things we’ve learned after one year of building our presence in this highly fascinating region.
